The Strategy Room
Your leadership team isn't short on effort. It's short on perspective.
A confidential, structured environment where CEOs and their leadership teams’ pressure-test real decisions alongside three other non-competing companies facing the same growing pains.
Who this is for
This is built for CEOs of businesses somewhere north of $20 million in revenue, growing fast enough that the strategy which got them here has stopped working and for the leadership teams are doing their jobs at this scale for the first time.
You'll know if you're in the right room. Your business has outgrown the founder-knows-best model. Your leadership team is capable, but conversations still funnel back to you. Decisions that used to be obvious now carry real weight, and you don't always have anyone to test them on before you commit.
It's not for CEOs looking for someone to run the business for them, or for teams that aren't ready to hear the truth in front of people outside the building. Everyone else welcome in.
What is solves
As a business grows, decisions get harder including hiring, pricing and capital allocation. Where to focus for the next twelve months. Inside your own four walls, it's genuinely hard to pressure-test those calls properly. People filter what they say to you. Context is incomplete. Nobody on your team is racing to be the one who challenges the CEO in the Monday meeting.
That's not a lack of intelligence or effort on anyone's part. It's a lack of perspective and it's very hard to change it from inside your own organisation.
The Strategy Room gives you and your leadership team a confidential setting to step outside the business, think clearly alongside other experienced operators facing comparable complexity, and strengthen how you execute with people who have nothing to lose by telling you what they actually think.
What it is - and isn’t.
The Strategy Room brings together four non-competing companies, each attending with its CEO and leadership team. That's it. No fixed methodology to sit inside. No slide decks to sit through.
● It is not a networking group.
● It is not a training programme.
● It is not a CEO-only chat over coffee, once a month, that never quite gets into the real detail.
It's a structured forum where leadership teams test their thinking, get their assumptions challenged, and sharpen their judgement — before decisions carry consequences, not after.
Three things come out of that, and none of them are easy to build inside a single company on your own:
● Perspective. You benchmark your thinking and execution against businesses facing genuinely comparable growth challenges — not case studies from a textbook.
● Challenge. Assumptions get pressure-tested in a confidential setting where honest disagreement is expected, not politely avoided.
● Clarity. Decisions get worked through while they're still decisions — not after they've already gone wrong and everyone's doing the post-mortem.
The goal was never more activity. It's better decisions, made earlier, and stronger follow-through on the ones you've already made.
Why it’s not just another CEO forum
Most CEO peer groups put CEOs in a room together and leave it there. Useful, sometimes. But the learning stays theoretical, because the CEO has to go home and translate the conversation for a leadership team that was never in the room to hear it. And a lot of those groups are run by a moderator pulled from inside the group itself, which means someone's always half-facilitating instead of fully participating.
The Strategy Room is built differently on purpose:
Whole leadership teams, not just CEOs. Your team is in the room too, watching how three other companies set priorities, drive accountability, and make hard calls under pressure. The learning doesn't stay theoretical, it gets tested in real time, by the people who actually have to execute it on Monday morning.
Facilitated, not self-moderated. An experienced facilitator runs the room, so every CEO in it gets to actually participate instead of spending half the session managing the group.
It doesn't stop when the session ends. Between the quarterly sessions, every CEO gets a monthly one-on-one and a seat in a small, confidential CEO-only forum so the thinking doesn't go cold, and the hardest conversations don't have to wait until the team's watching.
Each company keeps its own strategy and its own independence throughout. Nobody's telling you what to do. The shared environment just improves the quality of the thinking that leads you there.
How the year works
The Strategy Room runs on a structured annual cycle, built for rhythm and momentum rather than a single big hit of energy that fades by March.
Two-day Kick-Off: The year begins with a proper look at each business — customers, market position, competitors, risks and opportunities. You leave with a Strategic Plan on a Page, pressure-tested or built from scratch, and a leadership team aligned on what actually matters this year.
Quarterly Strategy Room (full day): Every quarter, all four leadership teams come together to review progress, work through what's actually getting in the way, and lock next quarter's priorities. This is where collective intelligence does the heavy lifting.
Monthly CEO Forum: A small, confidential group of the participating CEOs only — for the conversations that don't belong in front of the wider team yet, and the decisions that need another CEO's honest read before they're made.
Monthly CEO 1:1: Dedicated time with the facilitator to think clearly away from operational noise, work through decisions before they escalate, and stay focused on what matters most.
Leadership development happens through participation, not classroom theory. Nobody's handed a workbook and asked to reflect quietly.
What changes
This only works if you show up for it properly, not just on the calendar. Participants agree to:
Attend scheduled sessions
Prepare for discussions, not wing them
Engage openly and constructively, including when it's uncomfortable
Take ownership of what gets agreed in the room
Keep the CEO involved throughout the year, not just at kick-off, then delegated away
Outcomes are directly linked to engagement. This is a long-term leadership environment, not a one-off workshop. Most of the value shows up around month six, not week one, and the businesses that treat it that way are the ones who get the most out of it.
Next step
The Strategy Room runs in cohorts of four non-competing companies, so timing and fit both matter.
